The attack on DEI shows why liberals should stop arguing about "strategic" use of language forever. DEI stands for three uncontroversial virtues that most every American accepts, and the right still turned it into a vile slur. Do not be this adult. Own your mistakes to the kids in your life on the regular, & talk about your own failures any time the opportunity arises. (Show them that they happen & you don’t die!!) And, of course, teach them how to own harm when they mess up, too.

If you harm, you can heal/ own the harm you caused, start to change, make amends, apologize, next time make a different choice

When the Patriot Act was passed, libraries got requests for patrons’ borrowing history. We were prohibited from disclosing those requests. We deleted and shredded those records and stopped tracking reading history for that reason. ALSO.
