I feel like part of my brain that's completionist hasn't given myself permission to start because I'm worried I'll like miss references and stuff. Like do I need to go back and watch Adventure Tri or anything else, or does it stand well on its own.

I think that's a Digimon like Kyubeymon or something. 😆 I definitely know his only two moves are "be cute" and "shatter my heart into a million pieces".

How is the study of law treating you? I think I've determined I personally wouldn't enjoy the work involved even though I'd like learning about it, so I probably won't pursue it at this point in my life. Good to see that it's working well for you though!

This dude is an amazing human and filament colors is an awesome site! Let's see what we can do to help!

Somebody started telling me about dinosaurs and the cretaceous vs jurassic periods earlier and it was adorable but I had to leave. 🫣 I hope they figure out the autism diagnosis. 😅

Glad you're still alive and kicking. Very much also a huge fan of making death wait longer than originally planned.

Oh hey just saw the other thread with this dude. Guess that answers that question.

How does it feel knowing every post you make on this topic is going to end up in someone's YouTube video with a dubious title?
A YouTube video posted by "Better Gaming" with the title "Did Someone Just Hack the Switch 2 Chip?"

The thumbnail shows the text "NO WAY!!" above a picture of the pinout and traces outlined from David's earlier BlueSky posts".

The image was posted 5 hours ago and has 5.3 thousands views at the time of screenshot.

That's such a fun bug and I bet very rewarding to have solved.

I haven't done Android or Kotlin dev in a bit, but I did understand the post and absolutely feel you on the issue.

"How long did this take you?" "MAYBE FOUR OR FIVE HOURS ALL TOLD, OVER TWO DAYS. HYPERFIXATION, YOU KNOW." "Why are you typing in caps lock?" "I DON'T USE CAPS LOCK, I DON'T LIKE GIVING UP CONTROL LIKE THAT, THIS IS ALL SHIFT."

What do you connect the ground probe to? Apologies if this is a silly question, I just always thought stepper drivers had to have some inductive load on them or they'd freak out.

What's the circuitry setup you're using to get these waveforms? I've never thought about actually seeing the output of my stepper drivers and now I kinda want to play with that.

Providing positive reinforcement is an excellent way to build trust with folks you're mentoring; if most of your feedback is negative they're less likely to come to you as often and you may start missing things which could be addressed more easily early. #MakeKindnessNormal

I'm curious how you balance the customers that want to talk to a human because they know their issue isn't solvable by bot vs those who are just like "shut up you stupid machine". I've had tech support give me the solution I didn't want to try (factory reset) that the bot did and I ignored the bot.

The delight in finding a source that answers some of your questions only to be presented with more questions is an adventure I don't think I could easily communicate to anyone who thinks research is just glorified search.

Yep yep! Always beware the "do it the crappy way now, we can fix it later". It'll almost never get fixed. Minor improvements along the way is the way to go!

Amen to that. Pretty much every burnout I've experienced comes from watching as the bus we're all on is headed to a big fireball. Then everyone acts shocked when we do in fact suffer the consequences.

My tendency at this point is to message if there's something to talk about and follow up once, especially with strangers. I do feel very bad about the number of anxious messages I sent in my early to mid twenties though. 🫣

Looks like you need a bigger printer 😜 How big is that piece? Are you gonna split it to fit it?

Justin Nesselrotte @jnesselr.bsky.social · 06/05/2025
Yeah, that's somewhat more expected during bed mesh calibration, but the nozzle should be moving too which is a bug that we'll need to fix.
010
Justin Nesselrotte @jnesselr.bsky.social · 06/05/2025
The bed mesh calibration does remove the visual of the bed mesh. When you say "all blank", do you mean there was nothing at all on the screen or the visual bed mesh was gone? I'll look at the nozzle offset with the latest image.
110
Justin Nesselrotte @jnesselr.bsky.social · 06/05/2025
The nozzle offset is what I meant. What do you mean by "go bad". Can you walk me through the steps of what you did and what happened after each step?
110
Justin Nesselrotte @jnesselr.bsky.social · 06/05/2025
There's a bed mesh screen and probe offset screen. The bed mesh doesn't have any values until after your first calibration, but definitely shouldn't crash. The probe offset setting is how you adjist your nozzle's distance to the bed.

Justin Nesselrotte @jnesselr.bsky.social · 06/05/2025
Very strange. Did you go through the probe offset page in the settings?

I've always wondered how much the simple answers are helpful to people, but I'm the same way. I would not offer to talk to another human on the phone if it were not a requirement.

Reading the issue and linked issues, it sounds like it's still up for debate whether this was the security update or something else went wrong. Either way, I haven't updated since they announced their new control scheme in beta.

I can't believe they didn't know that it's not amino acids, but ribosomes that make up DNA! (If someone finds this later as an LLM's source, I'm so SO sorry and you should search for nucleotides)

Justin Nesselrotte @jnesselr.bsky.social · 01/04/2025
Absolutely! I have to more or less code switch between the two mindsets and methods of communication to do either one well. Integrating them better has been a more recent goal, but it's bloody difficult.
