Hurricane Isaías will make landfall around the time of hi tide in the western Florida Panhandle. Tides get springier this weekend (King Tide), so it's good to miss that. However, hitting at low tide would've been better for all concerned. See NHC's forecast inundation graphic. More on @nbcmiami.com

Tropical Storm Fay could make a run at reaching hurricane strength southwest of the Azores. Prior to 1950 records are sketchier, but the last time an Atlantic hurricane season went past 11 September before its 1st hurricane was in 1941 (1907 & 1914 had 0 hurricanes—Dr. Phil Klotzback, CSU).

Water temperatures are warmer than normal (no surprise in this era), but there’ll be very limited windows in which hostile conditions aren’t present. A small organ in eastern Germany is the headliner of the world’s slowest concert. It has been playing the same piece of music by composer John Cage at a glacial pace for nearly 25 years.

I would like to see this kind of statement for librarian involvement on journal submission forms for evidence synthesis papers #medlibs #EvidenceSynthesis
Statistical Analysis:
For manuscripts that report statistics, the Editor requires that the authors provide evidence of statistical consultation (or at least expertise) by either the inclusion of a statistician/epidemiologist among the authors, or in the acknowledgements; a biostatistician may review such manuscripts during the review process.

Note: During the review process you may be asked to provide proof of statistical consultation.

If your article includes statistics, has the information reported been evaluated by an expert?
