Hurricane Isaías will make landfall around the time of hi tide in the western Florida Panhandle. Tides get springier this weekend (King Tide), so it's good to miss that. I think the idea of data centers is small enough that people can get their heads around it. They are local, visible, and happening now The whole planet becoming uninhabitable is a little abstract for some people. OTOH, we've got short attention spans. How long would it take?

On the other hand, local punk band Holy Terrors (not the same band as on your list) also filled in that night, saying "we're gonna play like a buncha longhairs tonight" and totally ripped it up.

I saw Danzig filling in when I expected Kyuss, who broke up the week before or something, and man I just cannot listen to that dude's combination of steroids, Brylcreem, and Bobcat Goldthwaite-isms for more than 30 seconds before my skin starts itching.

I'm never sure where his misogyny, homophobia, etc., stops and his overall misanthropy - which includes his dislike of audience and his band, and basically everyone but himself - starts. Not unlike Roald Dahl's antisemitism - undeniable, but only a small slice of his hatred for everyone.

Very cool. Not a fan of Eremite's double dipping on digital copies, though. Nearly every other company that sells on Bandcamp includes digital/streaming with a physical copy.

Same, and I’ve tried, I really have. I love Kyuss. Their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th albums are among my all time favorites. Queens are so disappointing. Not heavy, no groove, annoying.

Those first couple of 45s were so good - In League With Satan / Live Like An Angel, Bloodlust / In Nomine Satanas - with an amped up punk edge that seemed to diffuse some on the albums. I guess you can only catch evil in a bottle so many times.

I've got big "not my job" feelings about it. At one time I considered becoming a high school English teacher. If I'd done that, it would have been my job (at least back in the ol' 20th century.)
