Some of the words stay in my head just fine, but not all of them. I never know which ones are going to stay there, but they're usually not the ones that matter right now.

I mean, y'all had the better chances on the night. Traveling ATL fan here, and I thought we got pretty lucky to come away with the win on this one. I wouldn't say either team was impressive, though.

Was it well deserved? They barely created anything, and Portland had the majority of the better chances. It was a perfectly fine road performance, but saying they dominated is a stretch.

In the mid 1990's in Sandy Springs, just north of Atlanta, there were 2 Mexican restaurants named El Azteca 400 yards apart. They opened the 2nd while renovating the 1st. 1st one reopened, and both did so well they both stayed open. You'd specify uphill or downhill El Azteca when making plans.

For me, what elevates an action director from competence to mastery is how well they handle the last element. They give the audience a real sense that failure is possible, and what exactly that could look like.

010

Jeremiah Kulani Prescott @jkulani.bsky.social · 16/07/2026

It's amazing how many movies/shows fail at the basics of building an action scene. The audience needs an understanding of geography, what the protagonist is trying to do, what is in their way, and how things could fail. McTiernan definitely mastered all of these elements in his films.

When a politician dies we see a lot of hagiographies about them. If you mention they were a terrible person IRL, you get chastised. My feeling? If you don't want people to talk shit about you after you die, don't be shitty when you're alive.

Just like with Messi, someone has always got to have eyes on Haaland. You still probably won't stop either of them once they decide it's time to strike, but you definitely won't if you don't even try.

Andy Davies at ESPN has been reviewing VAR calls each day at the WC. He's now said that the Tah goal, Kane non-penalty, Laryea non-penalty, Mbuku non-goal, & Balogun red card, among others, were all wrong. This is a ridiculously high level of wrong calls; worse than not having technology at all.

Happy Pride to this Caravaggio self-portrait that made one man so gay he had to go to the hospital

Caravaggio's Baccus painting, featuring a lush fruity spread and leaves bedecking a pasty twink who only works out his arms

Article screenshot that says:

The most extreme examples of
Stendhal syndrome share a sensation of
self-fragmentation. Magherini
describes the case of a 53-year-old
German man who was hospitalized
after repeatedly viewing Caravaggio's
Bacchus at Uffizi Gallery. The patient
felt "an attraction closer and closer to
an intimate sexual arousal of
ambiguous nature that invaded him
and made him feel good and bad."
Unmoored and distressed, he sought
medical attention. After treating the
subject's initial episode, Magherini
writes that he came to recognize his
latent homosexuality. Another case...

The top 10 salary earners on ATLUTD's roster. Not one of these players is worth their contract. This is what the scouting department has done over the last few years. Henderson's first window completely in charge, last summer, brought us 4, 5, and 6 on this list. Incredibly poor scouting.
