Don't give up. Don't you ever give up.

A tweet of mine from May 27, 2021. A drawing of myself running next to Sonic. I'm amazed with stars in my eyes.

"I really want to work on an official #SonicTheHedgehog project one day!! A goal of mine is doing a cover for the IDW comics, so I'm really gonna work hard and hone in on things I want to improve on and try to get there!!

Speak your dreams into truth!! Make them a reality!! ✨"

I'm Sorry - Gator Days

Panel 1

August and Gustopher are walking home from the store with groceries. a carton of eggs has fallen out of the grocery bag and is sitting on the ground.

Gustopher: AH! Dad, I tripped and dropped the eggs.

Panel 2

This moment is making August remember a similar event when he was younger. He has a memory of tripping and dropping eggs.

Gustopher: I'm sorry.

Panel 3

August remembers the reaction from adults who were there in the moment and how it made him feel. He remembers the immediate guilt and inability to articulate an apology.

Memory of an Unseen Adult: WHAT DID YOU DO!?

Memory of August: I- I'm so- So-so-sor-

Memory of an Unseen Adult: Sorry doesn't fix it. Clean it up!

Gustopher: Dad?

Panel 4

August kneels down to check on Gustopher.

August: It's okay. It was an accident. Are you hurt?

Gustopher: I'm fine.

August: That's good. Let's clean this.

Creativity is like a houseplant, not an endless well. You need to seek out sunlight, water, and nutrients in art, shows, music, experiences, and more to tend to it. And just like plants it has its dormant and active periods and you may not seem improvement for some time.

a piece posted quite recently, two characters standing in ruins by the water, looking at a gigantic creature in the distance

a piece from this summer, a character draped in dark, leaking black, standing at a door ready to go in

a piece from last january, based on the nordic saint lucia tradition. a girl with candles on her head riding a white mooselike creature

Our Big Cat, Ted, died in our arms last night. He was 10 years old. Not young, but not old either. He had a mass in his chest that was making it impossible to breathe. I don’t know if he died peacefully, but he died while his family held him. We should all be so lucky. We loved you so much, Ted.

If you dislike something or it makes you uncomfortable, that’s okay! But you don’t need to let the creator know. You don’t need to let anyone know, honestly. You can just ignore it and move on with your life. Fandom is about enjoying the things you like, not bashing the things you hate.

Make your praise public (comment on fics and works instead of just privately in discord or DMs so the creator will see it!) and your crit private (if you don't like something, find a friend to vent to privately instead of airing that shit on social media or in tags used by fans who like it)

Focus on the things you love, rather than what you hate. It's easy to feel good complaining about the things you don't like, but you'll have a much better fandom experience, and cultivate a better community to surround yourself with, by unabashedly loving what you love and focusing on that.

People should probably learn the difference between “plot holes” and “things I didn’t like” or “things the franchise plans to explain in the future” or “things film makers didn’t think they needed to explicitly explain because they thought you had critical thinking skills”.

My retake on that scene in s7 when Lance and Veronica are almost killed. There’s NO WAY Lance would just give up like he did, and there’s no way that as the paladin who’d unlocked 3 Bayard forms already, he wouldn’t be able to magic up a bigger gun when he needed it. #voltron #lancemcclain
