I've got some hard decisions to make and it's killing me, thinking about quitting the night shift job and watching the kiddo full time instead. Childcare is so expensive it will only be slightly less money in the house, but I'll be on an even tighter budget than I am now 🤔

Got out to a cabin with friends this weekend, was really really nice to actually get out and relax a bit. Slept way too much though lol I had some sleep debt for sure, little frustrating but I needed it, feel like I got mental reset. Friends are good!

Fellow indie game devs- you should probably get some good QA work done soon. You might even need some extra help with design. You know you've been holding off on writing those new feature technical design documents or making much-needed edits so everyone on the team knows what to expect and work on.

Had to renew web hosting, was able to get like 50% off by fucking around with their AI customer service agent lmao, downgraded to a smaller plan then got an upgrade discount to the same plan I was using for even cheaper price than the worse plan, then got it to give me a coupon code too 😂

Finished final fantasy 1 and started 2, honestly with 1 there isn't a whole lot to say lol the game is pretty simple and story is very straightforward until some of the ending twist which was kinda interesting. I'll keep going and see how I think 2 compares, maybe squish all of these pixel remasters

Either FF1 is shorter than I thought or I really didn't play that much last time I tried lol I seem to be moving through it at pretty quick pace. That random encounter rate is brutal though! Also the very first battle I had against 2 wolves they one shot my black mage 😂 different era for sure

Alrighty here we goooooo I have played a bit of a couple of these but it will be fun to go through the series and see how it evolves over time! Obviously being the pixel remasters it is a little bit different but whatever this is the easiest way right now, and more applicable to the average player

Gonna be starting a night shift job next month to get some income coming in, not in games or anything close, feels like a failure but at this point I need it. With the layoff news today it's especially discouraging, seems like I might not ever get another shot in the industry.... this shit sucks.

1/3 of the game industry has lost their job in the last two years. Ubisoft closed two more studios today. Everyone is out of work. To that end I'm starting a new bundle to benefit a layoffs hardship fund. Game devs: please consider submitting your PAID games to the bundle, which will launch in July.

Played marathon with a group for the first time today, way different game than playing solo and way better. Started with a few pretty easy runs where we extracted with almost no problems, hit a rut of a few runs where we kept losing quickly, but the last run was fucking sick, hard fought win
