I was going over some of the trends/eras of illustration with my students today and Corporate Memphis created the most conversation. It was compared to a business man in a happy face mask, Arial & pop music. Good in contexts like brightening up a train station, bad in masking the cruelness of tech.

i think the biggest thing i have to say on this dumbass art trend is that you cultivate your audience based on what you draw and how you act so do not be surprised if you follow a trend drawing fanart of an exclusionary franchise and now your audience is a bunch of shitheads while others leave
