Yes, there are only a handful of trans athletes this will affect. Yes, it's also true that this will be used to attack non-gender-conforming cis women in sports. "Certain people do not have rights in certain cases" is a nightmare SCOTUS ruling & no one should need convincing or elaboration.

#TodayInQueerHistory August 10 (1989) Artist Keith Haring publically shares his status as HIV+, he passed on 16 Feb 1990. Keith's art raised awareness around HIV and AIDS. He also set up the Keith Haring Foundation to fund and support research, activism and educational and charitable work.

The rights we now have, and that many in our community take for granted stand, on the struggle and activism of, (amongst many) two trans women of colour who stood up for us at a time when we needed it most. They made our fight their fight. However many in our community have forgotten this. 9/12

Sylvia led a troubled life following the death of Marsha. She ended up living in her own makeshift settlement by the Hudson River and struggled with alcohol. However in the last 5 years of her life she returned to political activism. 8/12

Marsha died in July of 1992 when her body was fished out of the Hudson River. Whilst the police wrote it off as a suicide, those who knew Marsha were convinced she could never do this and were sure that foul play was involved. 7/12

Whom I love dearly, who I can hold his hand in public (yes that is still a thing to declare). I am HIV+ and openly vocal about it to educate others and challenge governments to support, treat, and educate so we can eradicate the virus. Vitally importantly, is that I support my trans siblings. 2/12
