Happy to see some sanity from actual engineers in this thread. I feel the same way. I see how it’s affecting people mentally and the quality of software is going down. Let alone the fact it was trained unethically and only hurts employment opportunities right now. An overall net negative imo.

I am a programmer and I do blame the use of ai to streamline programming. It leads to not understanding how the code works and takes away jobs in the same way ai artists don’t know what they’re doing and took jobs from real artists. Ai is no good for anyone but penny pinchers without ethics.

Exactly. I’ve yet to talk to someone online about AI who understood the tech and wasn’t completely invested into it already. It’s hard to discuss the pros and cons when they have finances at stake.
