It's Saturday's #BlueSkyArtShow and the theme is #Lights. Presidio Trolleybus Depot (San Francisco, California, December 2016)

A view of a San Francisco trolleybus depot, just before sunrise, filled with rows of trolleybuses parked under overhead wires, inside the buses the lights are one. In the background, the city skyline is silhouetted against a dim but colorful early morning sky.

Mbreti Petri I 9.43am Mitrovica For me, this photo captures the essence of Kosovo. The great leaders quarrel, while the ordinary man in the street shuffles onward through the rain, trying to make himself as small as possible so he can go on living his life. #Photography #BlackAndWhite #ClassicMono

📌 El eclipse de la razón | The Eclipse of Reason "All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream." — Edgar Allan Poe #FotoDeFer #ECK #ClassicMono #Photography #BlackAndWhite #Monochrome #ImageAndVerse #Eclipse #SolarEclipse #AbstractPhotography #Eclipse2026 (More info in Alt)

🇬🇧 English: A high-contrast black and white photograph, captured from a worm's-eye view, looking straight up against a bright, uniform sky. The dark, ornamental stem of a classical lamppost stands in the foreground. At its peak, a single, glowing glass orb burns with intense light. Perfectly positioned directly behind the lamp, the dark, radiating fronds of a palm tree fan out symmetrically, creating a silhouette that mimics a dramatic solar eclipse with a glowing corona.

...There were about 12 hours left until the eclipse. The atmosphere already felt different, as if light itself were seeking refuge. This capture, though static on paper, holds the essence of a transitional moment that seems to redefine reality. A suspended instant where artificial light mimics the intensity of the solar corona that was yet to come.

#Alphabetchallenge #WeekEForEphemeral #ClassicMono Match Abandoned Thanks @sheena-mck.bsky.social for a great week

A black and white photo of a young boy standing on the corner of a foggy football field.
Behind the field and barely visible is a row of trees.
It was a very misty/foggy day and I had gone to Hollinhurst park to take a pic of the mist when I spotted him in the distance.
Just out of shot to the right was a group of football managers/players who were deciding whether to play the planned match.

#Alphabetchallenge #WeekEForEphemeral Cloud Catching

A photo looking up towards a beautiful clear blue sky.
Criss crossing the sky are telephone power cables in an X shape.
In the centre of the x a tiny cirrus cloud is floating past in the sky, the cables seem to have 'caught' the cloud.

#Alphabetchallenge #WeekCForCurves #BlueskyArtShow #Glass The curved atrium at the Museum of Liverpool a couple of weeks ago

A black and white photo looking directly up towards a large circular window in the ceiling of The Museum of Liverpool.
Where I was stood was under the white walled spiraling stairway that looks like a flowing ribbon.
It's an amazing example of architecture and also good for arty farty photos 😁

I have a handful of photos I go back to when things get too noisy. This is one of them. Silence and shadows. March 2021. We had just come out of lockdown.

Black and white photograph looking out over the Surrey Hills in the UK. A large tree stands to the left with its branches casting shadows on the ground beneath.

#Alphabetchallenge #WeekAForAbandoned #Stunday #ClassicMono Another place at Crosby Beach this afternoon

A black and white photo of Crosby Beach this afternoon.
On the left is a full sized human sculpture by the artist Anthony Gormley.
The artwork depicts a naked Anthony and stands facing the sea. The metal artwork is covered in barnacles and stands in a large pool of tidal water.
There are numerous people walking along the sand in the distance and are all tiny silhouettes in the bright sunshine.
The sculpture is also a silhouette with it's reflection in the water
