At least book 2 had Paul IN it.

Even if you survive the first two of the original books, book 3 can easily spin you out, because things start taking wild turns.

A lot of my motivation for this was seeing the Lynch film way, way too young.

010

Huh. See, that, I made it through. And all the Herbert sequels, no matter how bonkers. And two of the prequels written a million years later.

120

There has to be a happy medium. I didn't come to read about trees; I came for an epic story.

130

Y'know, the first time I saw an ad for Laika's new film, Wildwood, I was mildly interested. Having since seen 8000 ads for Wildwood, I hope it dies and is never heard from again.

I DON'T NEED TO KNOW THIS MUCH ABOUT THE TREES.

who knows if jackson can win this thing but i am glad that he is making clear that susan collins's whole scam is to do everything she can to make life worse for mainers and then take credit for mitigating it in the slightest way possible

One of the rare cases where I was glad they made a movie; it meant I could stop trying to force myself to read the book.

Pretty sure her reputation is being a useless waffler who talks about how concerned she is about the horrible things and people she then ultimately votes FOR.

So that's $340,785.33 TOWARDS absentee congressman Tom Kean. You know, the one who vanished, with no explanation, for MONTHS. I'm not excited for Rebecca Bennett, but stick of butter would be a better congressperson than Tom Kean.

I've never technically seen my skeleton but I’m pretty sure it’s in there because sometimes it kind of hurts

I'm not seeing people playing much on Twitch. Could be they're doing 1st playthroughs offline. Could be no one has any $. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'd be stunned if it doesn't win Game Awards, though. That usually brings a second wave of purchases. It's why I bought Baldur's Gate 3; it stole all the glory of Alan Wake 2.

010

I did a segment tonight that was absolutely breathtaking, and I couldn't wait to finish it and watch someone else play it because 🤢

020

I'm doing every side quest I can find, partly because they're fun, & partly because sometimes Dylan gets to have fun. I think it's lacking somewhat in the LORE and connectedness of other Remedy games. At least so far. It's there, but it's kind of diluted.

110

They nerfed Launch, so I'm trying a bunch of different things. I love the falter/execution mechanic. I like Dylan. I feel bad for him. I'm amazed at how much he's willing to do on behalf of an organization that royally fucked him over.

Well... In some ways yes, others, no. It's incredibly ambitious, visually. Vertigo be damned. It breaks my brain trying to navigate it sometimes, and my stomach, more. I'm really enjoying the melee combat. I'm not a gun person. I loved Launch, but I overused the hell out of it.

110

I think what we've learned from all of this is that everyone wants an assistant. Everyone. And they don't even need to be particularly trustworthy or effective.

Control: Resonant is the most fascinating combination of visually stunning and absolutely nauseating.
