The Portland area is headed for a dramatic housing and homelessness funding cliff that could cause thousands of people to lose their housing and would leave the tri-county region with billions less to house the growing number of people experiencing homelessness regionally. buff.ly/rya3Cwl

Despite success, homelessness funding could collapse without new voter support
Metro's Supportive Housing Services tax has far exceeded its goals. But records show voters are unlikely to support a new measure.

Truly imagine if Mamdani had used the word “Shylock.” It would have quite literally destroyed his career and every org and leader calling him out would be making this into a month long news cycle. Trump? Hardly a peep. When you accept antisemitism from the president, you aren’t fighting it.

The first people stripped of their German citizenship and made stateless was a list of 33 people published on August 25, 1933. 39,006 people were stripped of their citizenship during the Nazi regime. The final Ausbürgerungsliste was published on April 7, 1945, a month before the end of the war.

This dumb story perfectly illustrates how to be complicit with authoritarianism. This NYT headline accepts a ridiculous premise and analyzes its implications rather than analyzing the premise itself. To accept the premise is to legitimize it.

New from me at MSNBC! Wherein I note that Trump Accounts are not baby bonds. They won't build substantial wealth for the poor.. And in no way are they going to compensate for the damage the working class will suffer from this train wreck of a reconciliation bill. www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

‘Trump accounts’ are the GOP’s latest misguided attempt at being pro-family
With a single, flat $1,000 deposit, working-class families with no other savings to invest will not be able to build a substantial endowment.
