WOW. The ex-wife of the ICE officer who shot a 26-year-old Colombian man in Maine has come forward to say that he had mental health issues and was abusive in their relationship. She says after the shooting he called asking her to vouch for him — instead, she went to the press.
Ashley Brouillette told the Portland Press Herald in a phone interview Thursday afternoon that her ex-husband called admitting to the shooting and defending his actions. The Press Herald reviewed a screenshot of incoming calls Ashley Brouillette received from her ex-husband’s current wife’s Facebook account on Wednesday.

“He was asking me to lie for him and to cover for his character,” Ashley Brouillette said. “I told him that I was not going to lie for him. And then he tried to say that it was a justified shooting because the guy tried to hit him with his car.”

She said she has seen videos of Brouillette on the scene of the shooting and confirmed that was him on scene, telling him: “nowhere in there does it show that this man charged at you with a car.”

“In his head it’s justified. He’s unusually calm about it,” she said.Ashley Brouillette told a reporter that she wanted to speak publicly because she had previously reported concerns to his superiors in the military about his mental health. She said he was abusive in their relationship. She said that she’s been inundated with calls, since reports of Brouillette’s involvement began circulating online, threatening her and her family.

Georgia gov Brian Kemp and his wife Marty campaigned on stopping child trafficking. Kemp has signed several pieces of legislation and Marty has also worked on it for ~10 years. Has anyone seen either of them comment about the Epstein files? @bluestein.bsky.social ? Maybe I missed something?

This is insane. Brooks says everyone is too blinded by ideology to see the truth of what the video shows. Then the host asks him what it shows and he refuses to answer. “Left and right are equally to blame for everything all the time” is also an ideology!

This is so embarrassing, man. The six most influential Republicans in the country with the unreviewable power to make the law whatever they want, patting each other on the back for their courage. Butter-soft.
Asked for advice for conservative women in law schools who feel marginalized because of their views, Barrett said they should not be afraid to be “countercultural.”

Referencing her seven children, Barrett said she’s done “lots of countercultural things in the course of my life.”

“In truth, being a conservative woman, in a law school particularly, takes a lot of courage and independence and in many ways shows more feminism than just falling into some predetermined vision of what a woman should be,” she said.
