I like Tsuda's Kaiba a lot but going back to read the manga gave me some extra perspective there because where as Kaiba as presented in the 4Kids dub is this super snarky tech billionare, manga Kaiba is just autistic and I think Tsuda's take captures that perfectly

Also just so I don't sound TOO insane here, I'll also say that while I'm fond of Eric Stuart's Kaiba for what it is (know the man himself is kind of an asshole), I do like Kenjiro Tsuda's more for what I've heard of it. Heck Tsuda was carrying a lot of those early DM episodes I attempted

that's not exactly HIS fault. Meanwhile me trying to listen to early DM in Japanese is the only time I can think of where the acting was so rough it turned me off from continuing that and a lot of that came from how stilted Shunsuke Kazama sounded in those early episodes. I'm aware he gets a lot

I'm just saying that as cheesy as Dan Green's performance can get at points, he can hit where he needs to and there's some really good line delivery from him even back in Duelist Kingdom. The worst he's ever really guilty of is sometimes being directed to shout his lines in later seasons and

Putting aside any of the obvious issues regarding the dub script and all the changes made to YGO through it's localization, if we're comparing the two purely on acting ability, I will die on the hill that Dan Green is an overall better Yugi than Shunsuke Kazama

Counterpoint: There are way too goddamn many anime these days that were clearly designed as 24-26 episode seasons that got purposefully split up for production and/or scheduling purposes and I refuse to reffer to the second half of any of those as "season 2"

(Having said that you will get a free pass for me if you say "Anzu" or "Jonouchi" over Tea and Joey since there is at least more of an argument to be made in with the 4Kids localization doing lasting damage to Yu-Gi-Oh's western perception than can be said for Pokemon)

90. My Happy Marriage Season 2 Went back to finally finish this and had a pretty good time. The whole political subplot with the cult was really half-baked but I liked the continuation of Mio's character arc and it felt like it stopped at a good enough spot where more doesn't really feel necessary

89. Grow Up Show This was a fun little period piece about circus life, and I thought Mizuka was a pretty fun protagonist. Do think the show was held back by how much the production cut corners in showing any circus acts outside the trapeze but otherwise it was pretty solid for what it was

Digimon Beatbreak Even speaking as one of the ten people who liked Ghost Game I have to admit this was a real return to form for the franchise with a solid cast and some good social commentary to boot.
