Don't mind me, I'm just venting publicly about my struggles with my own art (a thread). Sometimes I'm really self conscious about my art. I appreciate that my style is somewhat unique, but sometimes I see art by my peers in a given space, and I feel *too* unique. I see qualities I wish I had.

Astarion from BG3 holds a knife to my Inquisitor Lavellan's throat.

This is based on a scene from an in-progress fic of mine crossing BG3 with Dragon Age. Basically, it's a messy Solavellan fic where they end up in Faerun with worms in their heads. This scene is a twist on Astarion's introduction.

Excerpt of the exact scene this originates from:
""Come quick! I need help over here!" a masculine voice called out from ahead.
Paya saw him before the others. An elven man with pale skin and white hair. His clothing reminded her of the Kirkwall nobility she had hidden among for much of the past decade. Odd to see an elf in such attire.
They approached cautiously.
"I found one of those brain things! You can kill it right? Like you did the ones on the ship?" He turned his head toward them, his eyes flicking across everyone briefly. Solas's jaw tensed. For just a moment it was like a mean cat had laid eyes on the family dog.
Shadowheart waved him off, "You look plenty capable. Kill it yourself." She gestured for the rest to follow. Gale and Solas both seemed to agree with the sentiment and began to follow her. Paya, with an instinct to help, hesitated. She did eventually turn away from the disappointed expression falling over the man’s face, however.
"And here I was hoping for a kind soul…" the man grumbled. Before she could catch up, Paya felt an arm wrap around her chest in a way that pinned her own arms to her sides, then she felt the cool steel of a dagger pressed against her neck. She inhaled sharply and let her body go rigid. She then pressed her back into the man in a vain attempt to get away from the blade.
Solas turned on his heel, and Paya saw a blue glow forming in his eyes.
"Solas wait!" She cried.
"Yes, exactly. I recommend some patience as well,” the man said, “This doesn't need to be violent, I just need you to tell me what you and your monster friends did to me. And her pretty neck will be safe."

A couple years ago, a science page I follow on tiktok started a vid with "for a while now, I wanted to do something weird with an egg" (or similar). I made a video wiggling my brows at the camera and then showing a picture of Solas. Peak humor, I know. It got suppressed as hell so I deleted it.
