It's not just trans representative groups that are resigning from the trans healthcare group over the draft trans model of care. Now a pharmacist representative has just resigned.
Author: Nicola Cantwell
Headline: Pharmacist working in education and GP out of...

"This time last year, I attended the first meeting of a working group set up to design a Model of Care for Gender Healthcare as the representative of the pharmacy profession. The HSE planned to update how gender healthcare services were delivered in Ireland, with an aim of providing safe and effective healthcare for those seeking gender healthcare services by producing a new Model of Care for Gender Healthcare. The hope was that the HSE Model of Care for Gender Healthcare would provide a clinical framework for safe and effective delivery of gender healthcare services in Ireland. Following months of meetings, discussions and drafting workshops, and much discussion with my pharmacist colleagues, I have decided to step back from this work. To say that I am disappointed would be an understatement!

At this stage of the process, I do not believe that there has been sufficient collaboration across the community, including young people, and the full range of healthcare professionals charged with providing care, to ensure that the proposed model will be any better than what has gone before. As an individual who cares deeply about the pharmacy profession and has grave concerns about the disparities experienced by gender diverse communities across all areas of healthcare, I cannot continue to contribute to the development of this particular Model of Care for Gender Healthcare any further. My colleagues and I will continue to focus on the provision of gender healthcare in community pharmacies across Ireland and remain ready, willing and able to contribute to any future projects in this area."

I'm definitely colder, but when I was switching between too warm and too cold that was due to my estradiol not being right.

This is written to fly under the radar, from today’s Sunday Independent (Ireland). The press council upheld a complaint about an offensive and transphobic opinion column by Brenda Power. Sindo was required to publish the decision. @mams4transrights.bsky.social @jesalady.bsky.social
A half page article from the Sunday independent with the headline OMB2590 A woman and the Sunday independent.
The article outlines the complaint, the appeal and the decision.
The complaint relates to an opinion column deploring the fact that an unnamed td provided a character reference for a man convicted of sexual violence against children. A sentence in the column argued that this case threw light on the possibility that a man would “identify as a woman” in order to commit sexual violence.
The press council concluded that “a reference to a protected group [trans people] in this context should have been extremely carefully scrutinised”. It found that the Sunday independent was in violation of principle 8 of the press council code of practice.

My Mechanisms artbook from @volhta.bsky.social arrived! I've been following him for a good while, so it's nice to have some of my favourite pieces in my hands.
Two pages from the Mechanisms booklet by Volhta.

The left is a robot lady with all but her face exposed, cables coming from her head and back, with the electronics under the side of her head looking like a side shave. She is holding her chin with one hand.

The right is a punk robot from the waist up with a mohawk wearing a spiky leather jacket.
