X-Jack should’ve never died as a standard.

an example of X-Jack, it's an ethernet PCMCIA card that has you insert the ethernet into a hole that pops out of the card vertically

Exact Audio Copy sucks ass IMO telling me that you have to insert a bunch of obscure command line flags into a GUI program just to get flacs to work meanwhile fre:ac just works and makes flacs using the same exe with easy to use gui boxes lol

either way seems the slowest my drive goes is 5.5x, at least I'm reading it as slowly as it's willing to go ig

ripping them at 1x because I can (and I hear older games prefer to be read slower anyways)

I've found a few PS1 games, I figure I should probably rip them so I have my own legal copies of games in with my pile of pirated roms lol

The reason why you'd want a bespoke "car made" CD player is of course shock protection. Idk how well a USB drive could handle vibrations lol

Jes - Hedgehog Edition @jes.labyrinth.zone.ap.brid.gy · 14/10/2026

Its fun that companies are making CD players for cars that don't come with it. It just acts as a flash drive to the car and it seamlessly converts the CD tracks into WAVs. Also LG DVD burners support this if you open the drive and hold down the eject button for a couple seconds, mainly made for […]

I hope this becomes the standard for all usb c ports personally. there's no reason why every device that doesn't need to stay locked in to have this as a standard. especially phones, it would be sick to have a magnetic phone charger without getting those cheap unsafe cables that risk zapping […]

oh microsoft invented magnetic Usb C, so you get the magsafe experience while also using a usb connector. the charge brick it comes with can be flipped for incompatible devices, plus both the charger and laptop both have standard usb c ports if you lose the cable or want to use an old cable […]

These shoes I'm wearing now have over an inch of excess room and I've bought and returned 2 pairs of shoes for being too big. My foot is EXACTLY the size of one of 9.5 but I'm nervous in buying that small and want to size up, but the shoes I'm getting are slip ons, plus I'm still losing weight […]

The reason why apple TV doesn't really exist is because TVs are already smart and the only people who care to change it are the power users lol Apple should make their own TV or sell bundles with dumb TVs if they want people to take apple TV seriously

any game above like 50 gigs should have a dynamic texture downloader IMO, modern games are so disrespectful to people's data caps and those with slow internet. just let me download a low quality mode for my steam deck or low power machine AT LEAST. .

oh this is interesting, I bought slip on shoes which are from the same brand and are built nearly the same, but they are much looser. I guess if you buy slip ons you have to size down because there's no shoe laces or tongue taking up room. this might also allow you to use smaller shoes which […]

it's funny seeing people in youtube comments saying "omg it's a death trap" to cars with rusted exteriors. the exterior rust means nothing as long as the frame and internals are okay lol. I've seen cars with rust holes in the floor board that drive better than some modern cars.

weird but cool that my realtek audio chip is actually programmed via the driver service, so it isn't doing any software filtering, so it is preferrable to open the realtek console and use what it has compared to something like krisp which is all in software :thinking_miku:

thank y'all for being so cool 💚️ 💫️

from ari:

@ari melody LIVE, WHOOPS i completely forgot to update y'all today, sorry!!

yeah, so looks like i might have burned the candle a little too short. i'm gonna be taking an impromptu break from streaming until further notice. it could be for this week, it could be longer. i'm gonna be taking that time to take a breather first and foremost, but then i need to start addressing some other ari melody-adjacent projects i've been very seriously neglecting (anyone noticed how i've not talked about album 2 in a while?)

thank y'all so, so much for the support you've given me so far, it's left me feeling incredibly empowered to keep doing this kind of work knowing that there's an extremely generous crowd of folks here who tune in each week. you are not at all obligated to keep your twitch subs going while i'm gone, though i may be looking into Another Way you can support me which gives you a better look into what else i'm working on. ears peeled, i guess! ;p

so uh, yeah! that's all. thanks again :ariLove: 💚 💫
