What's even more brutal was the attitudes of the US administration. It really seems like they seek out this brutality to be macho and supremacist. For me it's a parable of the dangers of nationalist exceptionalism.

7/ The message to Canadians is crystal clear: the C-suite asks, and Ottawa delivers. If you're a powerful corporation, you go to the front of the line. If you’re struggling to pay rent, feed your kids, or find a family doctor, you’re told to wait.

Capital will not do this on their own. Carney will not save us, he's selling us out and our future. We need to do it ourselves.

Carney's pathetic response to simply make LNG cheaper by scapping our environmental protection laws should disgust all of us. We need a China-style full-country press towards electrifying our society and moving towards green energy infrastructure.

Gas prices should be a wake up call to everyone that non-fossil fuel energy is a necessary evolution of our society, now! yesterday! The continued dependence on fossil-fuels is making us poorer and ruining our beautiful environment.

what's disappointing is his response. "well what are you doing to do? capital be capital." what a bitch he is. we need an electrified transportation system in our country. make it happen even if you have to seize every EV plant in the country!

idk why people see Carney as strong. To me this is abject weakness and simpering capitulation to capital. We need an electrified transportation system in our country. If capital doesn't want to do it, seize the means of production and fucking do it!

The President of the United States is openly threatening to commit genocide against 90 million people. Prime Minister Carney: if there was ever a moment to denounce this illegal war, withdraw your support, and call for accountability for war crimes—it’s now.
Screenshot of a post from Donald Trump: A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don't want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!

In fact liberal governance brings this about: inordinate power and impunity to oligarch psychopaths. Gavin Newsome, the Democrats, Mark Carney, will not save us from fascism. Only people, only direct democracy, only activism, can.

This is where liberal govts fail with industrial policy. Laissez faire capitalism will not save us. There was a time where the govt simply did these things where capital refused. Electric busses are undeniably a good in CA, the public should be seizing control of this.

opinion: as leftists we need to go on the offensive over industrial policy in CA more. it impacts too much: energy, transit, resources, economy, infrastructure, housing. China and the US in the 50s and 60s got it right. We can make public industry that helps us thrive and is ecologically sound.
