Excited to share the first step toward a new line of work I'm developing here at Hopkins, pushing toward usable early prognosis in post-stroke aphasia: acute-phase ML models predicting 12-month recovery across both standardized measures *and* discourse outcomes!
Six-panel anatomical visualization of the top-ranked imaging features for each outcome, with feature shading scaled by mean absolute SHAP value. Panels A–C show features for aphasia resolution: left-hemisphere cortical parcels (A), left-hemisphere white-matter tracts (B), and structural connectivity pairs (C). Panels D–F show the same three feature classes for discourse content normalization.
