ASNR Member Dr. Kristan Leech is leading an NIH-funded study that begins to untangle the relationships between post-stroke apathy and mobility, as well as the underlying neural mechanisms. She shared more about this exciting ongoing study in our latest blog article. www.asnr.com/files/ASNR-B... 🧠📈
The text at the top reads, "Kristan Leech, PhD, DPT, PT, Assistant Professor, USC." Below there is a quote from the article: “Mobility after stroke is shaped by many physical, personal, and environmental factors; our goal is to determine whether apathy is an important but often overlooked part of that picture. If apathy helps explain the gap between physical capacity and daily activity, the findings could change how clinicians interpret and respond to that gap.” The logo of ASNR appears at the bottom. On the right, there is a headshot photo of Anne Vivian-Scott, MBA, PEng, President and CEO of Kinarm. Her name and title appear on the left, along with the text, “I love the personal motivation that I often see in our users, and it can be contagious. We have all been touched by brain injury or disease in some way. Everyone knows someone. Researchers in this field really amplify the economic and emotional cost of brain injury and disease in a way I haven’t seen in other fields. I love being ‘part of the solution’ to finding a way to make things better.” The ASNR logo appears below.
