Strange isn't it that there are all those calls from right-wing influencers and libertarians on sm for Ukraine to hold elections in the middle of a war... but absolutely no calls for free and fair and transparent elections from the same people in the Russian dictatorship. Which is also at war.

Brighton’s only calendar made in the sea! The 2026 edition of my ‘Sea Views’ calendar arrived yesterday and very lovely it is too. 14 pictures taken during year round sea swims, a tide table, and free salty sea air with every one. www.brightonphotography.com/brighton-sea-views-calendar/buy
The cover of the 2026 Brighton sea views calendar. A picture of the west pier as seen from the sea, the camera is half above and half below the waterline. A grid of twelve pictures included in the 2026 Brighton sea views calendar. All views of the city, the beach, the starlings and the piers as seen from the point of view of a sea swimmer. The May page from the calendar. A picture of the city skyline and beach between the piers on a busy day.The January page from the calendar. A moment from Brightons starling murmuration, a huge cloud of birds swooping away from the Palace pier.

A majority of Leave voters would accept freedom of movement in return for access to the EU single market. And, crucially, 68% of Con-to-Lab switchers would too. Based on this, if Labour left behind its 'red lines', it wouldn't risk its 2024 winning coalition.
Poll: Majority of leave voters say they may accept free movement to access EU single market.

Willing to accept percentage support.
Voted remain: 86%
Labour 2024: 81%
Blue wall: 75%
Defected from Labour: 74%

Our 2025 calendar is in stock now. The perfect gift for sea swimmers and beach lovers everywhere. A different splash of Brighton and Hove sea for every month of the year, plus a full tide table to help find the perfect day for a dip. www.brightonphotography.com/brighton-sea-views-calendar/buy
A grid of twelve pictures, all of which are in our new calendar. They are all photos made in the sea just off Brighton and Hove during year round sea swims. They show the variety of colours, textures patterns in the sea, and the unique views of the city that can be found from this unusual perspective. The West Pier in Brighton, as seen from low down in the sea just after a winter sunset. There is a wave about to swallow the view of the pier, and the photographer. Brighton and Hove as seen from the sea on a muted and damp summer morning. Low cloud is hanging over the city and obscuring the tops of the tallest buildings. A view of Adelaide Crecent and Palmeira Square in Hove, as seen from the sea on a stormy looking day in early summer. The sea is a deep greeny blue and there are heavy grey clouds hanging over the square.

righton’s starling murmuration over the Palace Pier, as seen from low down in the sea. Most of the pier is obscured by the swell. On the pier a crowd of people are watching the birds. This picture is the cover of my 2025 calendar. A page from the calendar. Central Brighton as seen from the sea on a foggy day. The camera is hovering half in and half our of the sea. Underneath is a solid green, above is a somewhat muted view of the city under low cloud and sea fret. Yes it's just a picture of the West Pier at sunset, but this one is taken from the sea, with a very pleasing wave swooping in and swallowing the pier (and the photographer). Brighton's starling murmuration photographed from the sea. The birds are silhouetted against an orange sunset, the sea beneath is a blur of blue.

As the car just failed its MOT in a surprisingly expensive way, may I humbly proffer my two photobooks for your consideration. www.finnhopson.com/photobooks These are probably the only two Christmas presents you need.
The cover of my book 'Woodwork'. A hoar frosted birch tree in a dense woodland full of birch and bracken.A double page spread from 'Woodwork. Two pictures taken on a very frosty day in a messy wood near Brighton. Both pictures are full of lovely little fine details of branches covered in hard frost. The colours are very muted and it feels cold. The cover of my book 'Fieldwork'. Two fields with chalky soil and the patchiest of new crop beginning to show through. Orderly plough lines roll down the larger field. At the top of the smaller field is a rather pleasing little collection of trees on the skyline. Two pages from my book 'Fieldwork'. Both images are very simple, just a thin green line of grass across an expanse of empty chalky field. One picture has a small figure of a person walking from left to right along the line, the other has a group of crows nearby, probably to no good.
