A really interesting observational study which suggests that more positive attitudes to ageing may build resilience and improve recovery after a fall. Importantly we need to shift our focus from the physical only to the psychological state and wellbeing of a person too.

Maya reflects on the distinction between clinical and personal recovery after stroke. She describes how recovery is not about being who you were before but is self-determined and about becoming who you want to be. open.substack.com/pub/mayakuza...

We can always try to improve how we conduct trials and how we ensure that the most important people have a say in how they are designed and run. For the AD-SMART platform and #dementia research, Ben Underwood is doing just that with POPPED. Please take a look at www.popped.org.uk and do share!

Another excellent Imperial Stroke Public involvement group today. We discussed research topics the group felt were important. Also interesting discussions around the Stroke Association PREM question - Did you receive support coming to terms with the effects of your stroke?
