Voters want a Democratic Party that fights back against the forces that have rigged the system and made their lives more difficult. A party that comforts the afflicted and afflicts the comfortable —not a party that buckles and capitulates. Dems need to be on the side of the many, not Big Money.

This week's mail brought four Garrison's Gorillas cards from 1967, plus a 1967 Monkees card from the UK, plus a 1979 Fleer sticker with the best Bucks logo ever. Also a nice 1967 Willie McCovey card and the Alou brothers from 1965, simple but beautiful explosions of color missing from today's cards.

Pretty clear that the Trump admin's "Civil Rights" department is actively seeking to force schools to segregate further and deny more Black students.

The Department’s investigation found that post-SFFA, UCLA Law’s application includes personal statements and essay prompts, which are designed to elicit information about race. And UCLA Law’s admissions staff instructed prospective applicants how to reveal their race in these sections of the application—during race-based recruitment efforts, such as its annual “Diversity Admissions Open House”.

The Department’s analysis revealed that UCLA Law rejected white and Asian applicants who had the same LSAT scores as admitted black and Hispanic applicants. Plainly, lower-scoring white and Asian applicants would have been admitted by UCLA Law if they were black or Hispanic. Further, in 2024 and 2025 (combined), half of the admitted black applicants had LSAT scores that were at or below 90% of the admitted white applicants.

People like to dump on the Democratic Party, and I've had my gripes in the past, but they've lined up excellent Senate candidates this time. The Republicans are putting up dopes like Darline Graham and crooks like Ken Paxton, while the Dems have solid folks like Annie Andrews and Adam Hamilton.

A jury convicted her of fraud. Trump pardoned her because he’s pro-criminal. Vote against all Republicans.

Too many people in the media give Trump props for "transparency" because he talks to reporters frequently. But he lies most of the time and often ignores questions. A day after he talked about letting Iran destroy Los Angeles and San Diego, he won't even explain what he meant.
