Game design meme for me and maybe three other people on this site.

Guy looking at random encounters: "Wow! RPGs are grindy!"
Text overhead: "Random encounters help ensure that the the play experiences combat at regular intervals instead of avoiding fights and ending up underpowered, increasing the risk of quitting entirely."

I believe in you! Though thankfully it can be gotten in the FRLG Switch versions as well.

There’s not really a good reason to pick up a Switch Lite at this point unless you can find a CRAZY deal aside from console collecting.

Happy twenty-third day of the month of September for those who celebrate

Screenshot from opening text crawl of Little Shop of Horrors, saying:
On the 23rd day of the month of September in a decade not too long before our own the human race suddenly encountered a deadly threat to its very existence

Easily my favorite part of JoJo's. I can't wait to see the next Stage of the anime.

That’s more specifically accurate, yeah. Was bumping up against the character limit. Though I didn’t know that UD tried to get a trademark for it, that makes more sense.

The human antagonist in Gridman is too shy to give a girl a love note, takes his own inability to speak to her as rejection, & designs a Kaiju computer virus to destroy the hospital her parents work at. This petty, self-inflicted grievance based online villainy is surprisingly well observed for 1993

Takeshi speaking to Kahn Digifier at his computer: Today, a girl won't accept my love letter. Why?

An image of Takeshi's kaiju design on the PC monitor as Kahn replies: That's completely her fault

The game STILL uses transliterations of the Japanese terms for some anime references in the game BTW.

Jedasis @jedasis.com · 09/09/2026

Never forget about how when Master Duel launched, they translated "Dark Magician" as "Dark Spellian" in descriptions, because of a lazy find and replace for Magic -> Spell (Spell Cards are called Magic Cards in Japanese, which WotC threatened to sue Konami for in the TCG at one point.)

a picture from the NY Post titled " today’s leftists are possessed by the spirit of France’s 18th-century guillotine-loving revolutionaries" (way too long) that shows Mamdani (the specter haunting Europe) smiling in the sky as a bunch of French people goof around
