I'll believe Burnham is a progressive when he brings forward laws to undo our historically hostile position against LGBTQ+ people, immigrants and refugees, and protesters. Until then he's just Blue Labour with better vibes.

Never surprising how fast some white dudes will insist that marginalised groups sit down and shut up about attacks on their rights when leaders jingle some economic policy at them whilst giving the marginalised groups another taste of the boot

Burnham is stacking a whole lot of things under a list of "Todo, IF we win the next General Election" and quite a lot fewer things under "Todo, currently, whilst we hold power with a huge majority"

In 2014 pensioners were getting phonecalls from Labour's phone banks in England telling them their pension was at risk if they voted Yes, the only way to save their pension was to vote No. All for the most piddling wee pension in Europe, even less than the sexist handout to Italy's women.

Wild times on Ayr facebook. A tempura cafe is FOIing the council in an attempt to prevent bike lanes. The councillors have actually decided the don't want the bike lanes. But the town centre revamp project is being funded by Transport Scotland's active travel fund so, no you can't do that.

I've never heard a good argument from an Orangeman for their parade routes. It's always just "our traditions". Well there are lots of traditional parades but nobody ever hurt anyone over changing the route. Most would consider changing a route pretty minor. It's really just you guys.

Taylor Swift used to be an early 20s up-and-coming star singing from the relatable experience of a teenager. Now she's a billionaire culture titan using songs to settle petty personal beefs with somehow more insecurity from her place of unassailable power and success than famously whiny Drake.

BBC coverage of the Ireland/Israel match boycott debate simply not mentioning any of the reasons Irish people feel this way is so dark. dyk Cromwell's army divided Ireland into "safe" and free-fire zones that kept shifting, and worked out that starvation is how you beat a guerilla force?
