I grew up on TNG and DS9, was always a huge Star Trek fan, and...I fucking love Strange New Worlds. Mount's interpretation of Pike, in particular, is warm in a way that we sorely need right now. I get why die-hard Star Trek fans hate it, but it's great, honestly.

The main "Amazing Spider-Man" #1000 story by Joe Kelly and Pepe Larraz is a bit of a miss for me, despite some cool visual and narrative elements. That being said, the Noah Hawley & Patrick Gleason story is a 10/10 banger, absolutely phenomenal. (Bendis & Immonen's story was also pretty great!)

Hoping to write something more in-depth, but yeah. Wolverine has some weak design choices in how it implements his powers narratively, and people, for some reason, took personal offense to that. Ironically, the same people who would have complained if they didn't represent those powers!

I'll be curious how this one shakes out. If any of the reviewers and streamers who lit needless fires with misleading headlines and out-of-context gameplay will do anything other than continue to cash in, or if there will be a reappraisal of this one down the road. But I enjoyed it a lot.

The combat was fine, the story takes a weird fucking turn at the end. But I think overall a fun experience. I also don't think the game believes I am "stupid." It has a bunch of design issues, but it's not made in a way where I felt the game was insulting my intelligence.

Finished Wolverine tonight. Really fun stream, despite bots and scammers popping in to chat to try to harangue me into sending them Discord friend invites. Game's a 6/10 for me. I think most of the criticism has been misguided and not focused on the actual problems.

Worth noting that CDPR's cross-progression system works really well, too, so no one is stuck in any one ecosystem. In the past, I've moved from my Steam Deck to my PC to my Xbox in the living room and been able to carry my save wherever I was playing.

Midnight Suns and Guardians of the Galaxy are both absolutely incredible and among the greatest comic book games ever made, but both stumbled right out of the gate because people were still sour on Marvel's Avengers (which is also better than it got credit for).

Article from Polygon trying to spin Double Fine working with Erika Ishii as controversial. It reads:
