I wouldn't mind smaller-stakes stories focused on the characters we know and love, but I think my place in retail for low stakes remains with my guildies and community.

to be honest, this is why I role play. At the end of the day, I don't think Blizzard can produce an experience as immersive as being in a role playing guild with an active housing district. Blizzard can't recreate the feeling of performing for hundreds of real people.

eh as someone who does enjoy the process, there are times where i do want to scream and throw my laptop at the wall. There are times where it's not fun. There are times when it's the hardest thing in the world. but it's the only thing i want to do. so i do it.

are we gonna start suggesting that people getting into climbing for the first time start by climbing mt everest? or are we going to rip the mountains down so that all beginners can climb them? you can learn to climb mountains. but you have to start small. same with reading. same with any skill.

020

moby dick is not something you'd hand to someone who just started reading. it should not need to be sanded down for that, when a reader who cannot meet moby dick's level should simply start with easier books and work their way to that level. reading is a skill. you have to develop it.

130

people just don't like being told that they might need to develop skills and that some things are not meant for beginners to a space. disabled people and abled people alike should know that different books are at different reading levels, and you're meant to start low and work up.

G. Willow Wilson @gwillow.me · 03/08/2026

this ignoring that people only want to advocate for the disabled when they want art to be dumbed down for them personally and they'll use us like bludgeons to call anyone who does otherwise ableist.

curious on if there's a reverse for man boobs drawn by a lesbian. i used to get made fun of for how i drew men LMAO.

the ending disappointed me when I was a teenager reading it, but the longer I live with it, the longer I realize it's an ending I needed to see, and the ending that had to happen. it's an ending that says a lot, i think.

hate when fanfic authors act like people expressing opinions about their fanfic is unwarranted b/c "i do this for free!!!" like most professional authors barely see money for their work.

OK. Here are my thoughts after seeing The Odyssey: Movies should have intermissions, like they used to. Then you could change reels and maybe give a big epic movie some breathing room. And in conclusion, we need more Sinon and Les Wynan.

doing this with library books shows support for your local libraries. shelf surf. check stuff out. take a chance. return it if you don't like it.

This may sound foolish, but if it resonates with even one person it's worth it. I used to love reading. Then life and a lack of time got in the way. Recently it dawned on me that I don't have to finish books. A quick yes/no after 25-30 pages. Continue only the ones I'm loving. I'm reading again.

It's a Nolan film. Go see it in theatres. It's an event, like The Dark Knight was. I don't think I ever wanna see it again, but I'm really glad I went and that I was able to see it on the big screen.

If you want to read more books, you have to read books you actually like. If I’m not feeling it, I’ll stop reading it so quickly. I might come back at a later time to give it one more go but sometimes it’s a “nah I’m good” type of situation. Life’s too short to read boring books.
