Overall I really liked LANTERNS. It slowed down too much near the end (it could've used one more major battle scene to close it out, tbh), but I loved what it aimed to do by focusing on character decisions and relationships vs. Villain/Fight of the Week.

A 24yo man in Tokyo charged with taking upskirt shots tried to argue that he committed a lesser crime in two cases because...wait for it...the victims wore inner shorts. The court wasn't impressed and sentenced him to three years for that and two counts of sexual indecency.

Casual reminder that it’s illegal in nearly all cities in Japan for someone to try and coax you into a store (客引き, kyaku-hiki). If someone tries to pull you into an izakaya or “gentleman’s club,” ignore them - you’re about to get ripped off!
