Btw, we've been sharing reviews all morning, but a lot have spoilers in them! TR-49 is best experienced as it presents itself. Set yourself 2 hours. Curl up with an iPad or Deck, if you can. Have a pen handy if you like: definitely a cup of tea, so it can go cold. Trust us. The TR49 has got you.

A day late but here's a little snippet featuring Jones (the player character), Felixe, and Professor Osbourne! A version of this is available in my demo on itch, but I've now removed references to The Magnus Archives and changed around some variables and such.

The professor's smile freezes in place and his eyes narrow. "You disagree?"
Felixe sighs heavily and puts his pencil down with a deliberateness you've seen your teachers use when they're making a point of being done with whatever shenanigans you've been up to. He looks at the professor silently for a moment. "Yes," he finally says, then shrugs, "but it's your class, not mine."

Is this... how people talked to teachers in college? Professor Osbourne seems content with the answer, but maybe that's only because Felixe is an adult.
Well, you're an adult, too, but, like, a real adult. A published author, apparently.
Choice 1: Interrupt.
Choice 2: Let them keep going .
Result of Choice 2:
Add +1 to felpo.
Professor Osbourne spreads his arms graciously, "If you have a critique, by all means, don't hold back." His smile feels like a trap, and you catch Brigid fidgeting nervously out the corner of your eye.
"I think I've made my critiques pretty clear already, and despite the impression I seem to be making, I _am_ here to learn, even if I don't agree with everything being said. You have all semester to convince me."
Trap averted?
"That seems reasonable enough. Though I doubt it will take me all semester to do so."
Felixe just snorts and goes back to his writing, and the professor doesn't pursue it any further.
Result of Choice 1:
Add +1 to ospj.
Add +1 to Jones Change Distraction.
Set interrupt to true.
"I'm not scared of monsters," you say abruptly, barely realizing you had the thought before it left your mouth.
Felixe glances back at you for a second, but Brigid and the other students turn to look between you and the professor expectantly.
Osbourne's first smile is back, the one where it seems like he's laughing at you. "Ms. Jones, yes?" he asks, as though he didn't greet you by name when you first came in. "Would you care to elaborate?"

Probably something in the vein of relying on/trusting others and not cutting people off at the first sign of real conflict. To be fair, it was a kinda big conflict in the canon of our campaign. One day I will get to that point in the IF I'm writing and you can see if it happens to your Felixe, too!

Felixe is well off enough to own a small house in a relatively small college town and an older car. He lucked out that his books sell well and he's able to spend all of his time working on them. Again, initially a self-insert character so there was more than a little wish fulfillment lol

Felixe would want to do something low-key. Maybe dinner at a nice but not Nice nice restaurant, and/or a personally meaningful present, just something kinda small and intimate. Maybe do a weekend getaway to do some sight seeing or something for a big milestone.

Felixe tends to be a pretty practical thinker so I think he'd weigh the pros and cons and probabilities of achieving the goal. He's not one to give up quick, but he's less likely to fight for something he deems to be a lost cause without convincing external encouragment

The prejudice other characters have against Felixe is one of the major themes of Caedes lol He does not deal with it well. Big on the "do not talk about feelings and cut people off before they can cut you off" sorta guy

Genuinely I don't think Felixe is really capable of that. He sort of has one depending on how certain events go in the game (they kinda went like that in the og campaign but not to the potential extreme), but in general he doesn't have a lot of true hate in him This is not always a good thing lol

I kinda gave Felixe green eyes as default (green eyes, red hair, and freckles are my go to for character appearance lol) and I have a hard time visualizing things But I think I want to change it to hazel As far as changing it, it's not something that really crosses his mind as a thing to do

Felixe was bored to tears sitting in on meetings with his agent, who was trying to get him to do book tours and talk about movie rights etc. He ended up getting a new agent who left him alone as long as he turned in new books on time.
