I stood on an NFL sidelines once. A receiver ran a route past me at full speed. It was the fastest I have ever seen a human move. We normies watching in the stands or on TV have no sense of scale for the speed, strength, or skill of elite athletes. If you ever say "I could do that", you can't.

This reminds me of that time Billy Crystal's dad took me down to the old Yankee Stadium to see Mickey Mantle. I had a Yankee hat on, and baseball cards in my spokes, and I saw him hit a home run. Oh boy, oh boy, did I feel sad for anyone outside New York who would never experience sports.
