No idea why I’m stressed maybe it’s because I look at my phone the moment I wake up and inject the worst things done by the worst people in the world directly into my eyeballs all day until finally closing them at night in fitful sleep but who knows

If this isn’t the start of a 30-year Trump family reign maybe it’s a good idea to change things so that the whole system doesn’t hinge on honor, shame, and norms because the exact people who lack honor and shame don’t care at all about norms

I think any story about Trump's autocracy should be mostly about the people and institutions who failed to stop it. This guy isn't a political genius, everything else just happens to be rotten. 'Toddler Consolidates Power In Household' is a story about incompetent parents, not shrewd maneuvering

If you’re wondering what happens in a version of Back to the Future where Marty doesn’t stop Biff and Biff goes on to become president, turns out it’s not great.

The tattoo being *literally* the same symbol central to the “are we the baddies?” Mitchell and Webb skit is a bit on-the-nose even for these times.

The Democrats are the Washington Generals to the GOP’s Globetrotters. They get paid to show up and get dunked on. They hate their own voters way more than they hate Trump, and they can fundraise on being the only opposition to Trump while shrugging that they can’t do anything.

Crazy that the US gov got on Bluesky literally just to troll. The only way to “win” against a narcissist is to remove the attention. Anything else gives them what they want.

In the 2010s, this country's elites were thrown onto social platforms with everyone else and could finally read what we all think about them and it caused them so much psychic damage that they decided to destroy both the internet and democracy to make sure nothing like it ever happened again.

SpongeBob would absolutely be radicalized by Patrick. Mr Krabs is the business owner who looks the other way because fascism makes him rich. Squidward and Sandy would be the only real resistance, Sandy because it’s right and Squidward because he’s a born contrarian.

I was an English major so my math was off (used $27 instead of $18). My bad. It’s *only* the equivalent $126 for an inferior product, literally 5x ($100) more.

So I thought ok, maybe there’s a place in the US that makes a green tea so I don’t have to drink sawdust from whatever tea bags they have at Kroger. Found a place with a similar tea in Mississippi. They have 27g on sale for $18. That would put 200g at $216 for an absolutely inferior product.

I’ve gotten into Japanese green tea and order it from a place in Kyoto (bougie I know but it’s cheaper and better for me than coffee or beer). Checked on the site and there’s now a $17 tariff on $26 (200g) of tea.

Two stick-figure characters talk. The younger one asks if the older remembers life before the internet. The older replies that it was “so boring,” just sitting there all the time, “the worst.” When the younger suggests it might have been more fulfilling, the older shuts it down—“wasn’t worth it”—and insists that while people still get bored now, “not like we did.”

Having TAS on after school in grade school and then the Nolan movies in early adulthood cemented my Batman fandom for life. It doesn’t matter that we haven’t had a good Batman movie or TV in 13 years (17, depending on your opinion of Rises) because I’m not sure we can top TAS and The Dark Knight.
