Tangentially, I’ve long found it fascinating that there’s a universal objective concept of sharpness. It’s built into the structure of the universe in a unique way compared to other senses. We can only approach absolute sharpness.

The Saturn image—captured on May 4, 2005—was created using raw monochrome images taken with the Cassini spacecraft's wide-angle camera (WAC) via red, green and blue filters. Assembly by Val Klavans.

The Titan image—captured on March 31, 2005—was created in a manner similar to that of the Saturn composite. Assembly by Val Klavans.

These two color composites were merged in Paint Shop Pro 9, using a special 'mask' layer, created by Ian Regan and Val Klavans.

The second voice reads the same relief as a tube rather than a waveform. The elevation curve becomes the bore's cross-section, so the terrain is the resonating body instead of the sample. Here Mount Fuji is turned into a flute.

It’s what a computer has been expected to be, which makes it less radical. It’s also a universal extension of individual capabilities. I hope to see a true machine intelligence that’s 1000 years ahead of humanity say how to organise humanity better for all. That’ll challenge existing power systems.
