I’m wondering how localised ‘picky bits’ used to be. I had never heard the phrase until I moved to Manchester. I don’t suppose having a French teacher for a mother helped - any excuse to get a bit of the language into the home was jumped on.

There was a problem with the fire alarm at school today. It kept on going off while the engineers were fixing it. To counteract the noise, my Year 7 class started clapping a hemiola, and then 2,3 of the next triplet in a beat. Combined it with the Ellie Kildunne cowgirl celebration. UBER JOYFUL 🤩
