I've improved the data on the felling index, so in addition to details from the register, we include restocking information from the PDF, and add in local info such as SSSIs, Plant Health Notices and Soil Type. The @standingwire.com account will post update graphics for every application change

Just about a year ago H was pacing the car park of the maternity unit listening to the Waterboys, waiting for Rory to arrive. Yesterday eve we went out to see them live in Glasgow. Been a bit of a year, but lovely to bookend it with this! Looking forward to celebrating the wee guy today!

Some weird AI implementations out there - RightMove has added a "Summarise Property Details" AI button, and a few more for questions like "is there public transport nearby" - all things which are already in the property listing, and can be pre-computed once. Why bother feeding it to AI?

I went to the AI Demo Night in Edinburgh last night. Interesting evening! A couple of thoughts: First, the barrier to creating software has got much lower. Some folks had no idea about code, and yet had produced viable app prototypes (with customers!)

I do worry about how junior devs will pick up the skills needed to advance. I think the floor has lowered for people to feel they can try building software, but you need to make a real effort not to be lazy!
