Can I tell you something that was surprisingly special about this event - Martin speaks like me It’s not just that we’re Scottish, we’re both from very working class areas outside Glasgow. In my whole career I’m shocked that I can’t think of having shared a stage with someone who sounds like me 🤯 🥰

About to run a session for academics on planning public events where I have a case study on the wonderful @gallycab.bsky.social and all they do to create welcoming and accessible event. (That’s not even all the slides 😅)

I don’t like this poster at the Science Museum. It asks “can you make a Khan” For context Khan is a superhuman produced through eugenics. I don’t think this is the correct springboard for Sci comm to use. The idea of eugenics shouldn’t be trivially dealt with or ignore the harm the idea perpetuates
