Mini of the month - Reflections Entry 6 by @owolf.bsky.social Reflections in tea #Nerdlings #MiniOfTheMonth
Timloc "Viper" Bollard hadn't looked in a mirror for months. When you're out in the field for that long, there’s little time for vanity. When he finally took a moment for a tea break, he was somewhat startled by the face staring back at him from inside his cup. Was that really him? What had the war turned him into? Would he ever return home? He needed some time to reflect on that.

Mini of the month - Reflections Entry 4 by @grumpykiltpin.bsky.social Foreshadowing #Nerdlings #MiniOfTheMonth
A pre-heresy Corvidae Sorcerer of the Thousand Sons Legion encounters a mysterious doorway in a forest clearing. As he watches an image forms, it appears to be himself in the future, but his armour, his staff, and even the power he wields is very different. Is this a portent of what will be and, if so, what does it mean?

Not my entry for mini of the month, but my daughter's (who is too young for social media). She came up with the theme, raided my bits box, and did the assembly and painting all herself. Really proud of her for this. I'll be sharing any nice/encouraging comments with her.

#Eclipse photo! Wish I had a better filter, but this was still pretty magic.
A photo of a partial solar eclipse taken through a crappy make-shift solar filter. The sun is a bright yellow/orange crescent occluded to the bottom right. The background is black but with loads of orange glare.

Ok, last one of these for a bit - here's a group shot of all the wraith units for the army so far: two Wraithlords, a unit each of Wraithguard and Wraithblades, plus a Spirit Seer on the ouija board. Really love how my ghost warriors all look together. #Warhammer #Warhammer40k #Nerdlings
A photo of a collection of Warhammer miniatures: a Wraith Host of the Aeldari Craftworlds.

Five Wraithguard on the left carry D-cannon, while five Wraithblades on the right carry ghost axes and force shields which glow an ethereal blue. Two Wraithlords tower behind them, while a Spiritseer - the only living member of the army - stands in front.

The wraith constructs are all in grey, with paler grey heads. The seer wears grey armour over pale grey robes.

Breaking up the ghostly monochrome, all the models have their left hand clad in red, for the bloody handed God.

Alright, here's a shot of the two Wraithlords together. I didn't give the second a ghostglaive as I wanted them both to have very different silhouettes and I quite like the "standing ready" pose which the limited posing on the glaive arm would ruin. Very happy. #Warhammer #Aeldari #Nerdlings
A photo of two warhammer miniatures: two Aeldari Wraithlords.

These are towering war constructs built in the lean, curving Aeldari style, but three times the height of a man and bristling with weapons.

They almost entirely grey - grey body, paler grey on the heads and their cloth tabards hanging from their waists, and darker grey on the guns at their wrists and shoulders.

The one on the left brandishes a Ghostglaive - a sword with a massive blade glowing an eerie blue. Aside from that, the only colour is the blood red of their left hands - in honour of Khaine, the bloody-handed God.

Added another Wraithlord to the Revenants. This one has been sitting on the "undercoated but not painted" pile for an embarrassingly long time, and it's great to get it done. Absolutely love these models. #Warhammer40k #Aeldari #Nerdlings

Finally got around to painting some of the Aspect Shrine tokens - had a real blast on these. Was going to do them as a quick single colour job but had a bit more fun making them like the actual main scheme for the minis. Pleased with the result. #Nerdlings
A photo of four small Warhammer miniatures - Aspect Shrine tokens.

Smaller and less detailed than a regular mini, these represent a shrine consisting of a small statue of an Aeldari god or totem. They are all made out of grey stone, but have some details painted in red or gold leaf.

Left to right, they are: a person with the head and wings of a falcon, holding a gold lightning bolt; an old crone with red hair sitting cross legged on a plinth; a warrior with a great crest on their head; a cloaked figure with Grim Reaper vibes, standing atop a pile of skulls.

A photo of two Warhammer miniatures: an Aeldari Farseer, and a Spiritseer.

Both wear grey armour and fully enclosed crested helmets, with pale grey robes.

The Farseer holds a grey spear in readiness behind their body, its glowing blue blade held low, while their other hand reaches forward, a slight glow suggesting the use of a psychic power.

The Spiritseer holds a rune-staff upright with its heel resting on the ground - in their other hand, they raise a knife with a glowing blue blade to the sky.

While most of their outfits are monochrome, the Farseer has a red sash, and the left hands of both seers are blood red, in honor of the god of war, Kaela Mensha Khaine.

Ok - the Einhyr Champions are done. The celebration limited edition one was painted a while back but she's been repainted to match the new one. Their armour matches the navy blue of the other kin, but I figured each one can have personalized colours on their horsetail plumes. #nerdlings
Two Warhammer 40k Miniatures: a pair of Einhyr Champions of the Leagues of Votann

They are both short-statured but powerful warriors encased in power armour that further exaggerates their proportions to the level of "absolute unit". Only their heads are visible, as their helms are stowed away. The left one has dark skin, dark hair and a goatee, while the right has pale skin with short strawberry blond hair.

Their armour is navy blue, with occasional detailing in gold or or bronze, such as on the animal head crests arcing over their heads.

They are both based on dusty rocks in a red sand desert - the left leaping into the fray, and the right standing stoically. In their right hands they both wield a huge mass hammer, while their left has an imposing powered shield with stylised runic designs in gold inlay. Two Warhammer 40k Miniatures: a pair of Einhyr Champions of the Leagues of Votann

My first Leagues of Votann unit - Hearthkyn Warriors. It's a homebrew colour scheme - I love dark blue but never seem to paint it, so I figured I'd use that as the base and work from there. Think it's come together fairly well. Looking forward to doing some characters. #Warhammer #Nerdlings

Post a non-religious picture you think of as holy
A page from the graphic novel "Kingdom Come".

The page is five full width panels of varying heights on top of each other. All of them show dark figures standing out against a bright, desaturated, indistinct, swirling background - the fog of dust following an explosion - beautifully rendered in Alex Ross's stunning watercolours.

Top Panel:
An old white man in a grey sweater cowers in the foreground. Behind him, a dark cloaked silhouette looms: it is the Spectre.

Panel 2:
The shot is reversed - the Spectre's dark green hood is now close-up in the foreground, as the old man looks up to see him.

Panel 3:
The Spectre and the old man face away from us, as the Spectre points to a distant third figure visible between them far in the background, and speaks, in a green and unnaturally ragged speech bubble, the only dialogue on the page: "JUDGEMENT".

Panel 4:
We zoom in on the distant figure, far enough that the old man and the Spectre are now out of frame. We can't see much yet, but it is a man crawling on all fours, head down in defeat or pain, surrounded by the ash and the dust.

Bottom panel:
We have zoomed in enough to see the figure clearly.

It is Superman. His cape is gone. The blue of his suit is almost grey. Only the red stands out through the ash swirling around him.

Still on his knees, he has lifted his arms to the sky, raised his head, and opened his mouth in a silent scream of agony and devastation.

They carry a pistol and wield a glaive with a glowing blue blade one-handed. Their armour and weapons are grey, with their cloak and feathers almost white - the monochrome broken by a red sash, and a red left hand.A Warhammer miniature: an Autarch Wayleaper. Most people are aware of dyslexia these days, but less well known is dyscalculia, and given that much of our interaction with the digital world involves numbers, it's just as important that we consider how to make things easy and intuitive to use: accessibility.blog.gov.uk/2025/03/06/n... #a11y

If you're looking for details for your calls, House Dems produced this tool where you can how many people in your district are at risk of losing jobs, health care, and food on the table from the House GOP budget. "For the sake of the X people in CA-54 who will lose their Medicaid, please vote no."

Finally got around to taking an army shot of the Sca Ité Revenants - really happy with how this has turned out. This is all the units so far - plenty still left to paint, but enough to see the theme coming together. #Warhammer40k #WarhammerCommunity #Nerdlings
Photo of a Warhammer 40,000 army. The faction is Aeldari Craftworlds and there are about 40 infantry models, plus a larger war construct, a Wraithlord, displayed on a gaming board representing grey gravel, with some ramshackle ruins in the background.

All models are painted grey with black weapons and white accents which vary from squad to squad (e.g. cloaks, plumes, helmets, robes). Bladed weapons are a glowing pale turquoise. In addition, the left hand of all models (including the giant Wraithlord) are painted blood red, for the bloody hand of Khaine.

Army contains Guardians, Dire Avengers, Wraithblades, Maugan Ra, Dark Reapers, Howling Banshees, Striking Scorpions, Wraithguard, Wraithlord. It is led by a Farseer and a winged Autarch Wayleaper.Photo of a Warhammer 40,000 army. The faction is Aeldari Craftworlds and the photo is focussed in on the two leaders, a Farseer and an Autarch Wayleaper - with other models out of focus behind or out of shot.

Both models are painted in grey armour with black weapons and pale grey robes. They both have bladed weapons in a glowing pale turquoise. In addition, they both have a blood red sash, and their left glove is also blood red, for the bloody hand of Khaine.Photo of a Warhammer 40,000 army. DON'T EVER TALK TO ME OR MY SON AGAIN! #Warhammer40k #WarhammerCommunity #Aeldari
A photo of two Warhammer miniatures. They are Aeldari wraith constructs - tall, elegant, bipedal war robots in grey with glowing blue bladed weapons and a blood red left hand.

While the two constructs look extremely similar in shape, design, colour and weaponry, the Wraithlord (on the right) is twice the height of the Wraithblade (on the left) giving them a parent/child vibe.

Another shot of the Wraithlord, with his little buddies this time. I think they look great together - the similar silhouette at different scales really works, and I'm really happy with the paint scheme, which I think is proving effective across a whole army. #Warhammer #WarhammerCommunity #Nerdlings
Warhammer miniatures: a Wraithlord and 5 Wraithblades.

The Wraithlord towers over its smaller Wraithblades kin, but all are bipedal war constructs armed with glowing turquoise blades. They are all grey, with white heads and a blood red left hand.

Warhammer posting - just finished this Wraithlord. The first large mini for the Revenants and I think the colour scheme scales up really nicely. #Warhammer #WarhammerCommunity #Nerdlings

Last minis of 2025! A squad of Striking Scorpions - sitting in the "nearly done" pile for the best part of three months but finally found the time to finish on New Years eve. #Warhammer40k #WarhammerCommunity #Nerdlings

Reposting some old hobby stuff from Twitter: Harlequins were the first faction I started painting when I re-started 40k. I got to about 1,000 points before realising I'd bitten off more than I can chew and putting them on hold, but I'm still proud them. This is the Masque of the Spiteful Ember.
Picture of a collection of Warhammer miniatures - about 20 infantry and 4 light vehicles. They are Harlequins - warrior-dancers, with bright colours and patterns on their otherwise black outfits.Picture of a collection of Warhammer miniatures - a Harlequin army with a close-up on the Shadowseer - a dancing apparition in white with a slaff and a crystalline rainbow pistol.A collection of Warhammer miniatures - a Harlequin army with a close-up on the rainbow-haired Troupe Master and the black-clad Solitaire.Warhammer Miniatures. A whole army shot of a Harlequin Masque with a poem written above them. The poem reads:

The flame is gone, in ash its heat abates
The vile dark exalts with gleeful cries
But stubborn and unreasoning hope defies:
Refusing death, the spiteful ember waits
