Pharmaceutical payments to general practices rose from £2.5 mill in 2015 to £7.5 mill in 2022. 54 companies made payments, but one company, Chiesi—marketing respiratory inhalers—accounted for >50% of payments since 2017 The payment growth and the dominance of one company raise concerns about bias

Average annual expenditure was €320 for people with ≥5 chronic conditions, €187 for 2 conditions and €44 for 0 conditions. Higher expenditure amongst those with multimorbidity was compounded by their lower household incomes.
