it's basically the number one rule to any medium ; you can't just tunnel-vision and pigeon hold yourself into a corner. that niche may feel comfortable but it's stifling and prevents you from seeing "the bigger picture" in any sort of artistic/cultural context

The "intelligence" we see in procedurally generated content, and by extension genAI, is our own. *We* are the ones seeing mountains and caves and forests. The machine just sees a giant probability table to navigate. No thought, no truth, just one block after another. It's a dangerous illusion.

If a non-citizen neighbor gets kidnapped by ICE, you supposedly have about 4-5 hours to file a habeas petition in Minnesota to prevent ICE from shipping people to Texas. They are moving people that quickly regardless of whether or not they have legal status.

Documentaries are such a boon to creatives, AND help audiences better appreciate the work that goes into the media that they enjoy. They're also great for helping to keep things fresh; when everyone knows how a trick is done, filmmakers have incentive to conceive new tricks, and push the form.

Excellent thread, and honestly, graphic novels have been a big part of the book market for long enough that publishers have no excuse for failing to hire editors who know how comics work. They've set their unreasonable standards and refuse to budge from them, at the cost of comic artists' health.

can't help but wonder if some editors (not in the know editors, but maybe some in the know too) are looking at cape comics and seeing these numbers without recognizing that most graphic novelists are doing letters through colors on their own, it's not a group effort with 4 people working in tandem
