As climate scientists, it sucks to be defunded. But it adds insult to injury to be defunded by this moron who has access to the best climate science and data in the world and still says asinine things like this.

64 years ago, on the 27th of September 1962, Rachel Carson's book Silent Spring was published. It handled the environmental harm caused by the pesticide DDT and the disinformation spread by the chemical industry. Carson managed to sway public opinion and even policy. #otd #history 🗃️

We have *six days* left until the Academy of Natural Sciences, North America's oldest Natural History museum, is scheduled to close it's doors. Here are *six reasons* why we cannot - and will not- let that happen.

To piggyback on this, I highly recommend looking into a local conservancy or land trust. They're always in need of help and you get to have an immediate and local impact. Working with your hands has some great mental and physical health benefits to say nothing of the benefits of being in nature

I know there are a lot of people who want to make the world better but don’t know where to start so just…don’t. I also know every group I work with that is making the world better is kept afloat by exhausted people who desperately need help. If you’re in group A, please find an org to help group B

Chinook salmon have recolonised 88% of their historic range on the Klamath River, with more than 13,000 fish passing the old Iron Gate Dam site in 2025, up from 7,700 the year before. Two years after the dams’ removal, it’s going better than anyone predicted. buff.ly/pToC9gB #ShareGoodNewsToo

Just so it's absolutely clear for everyone: the rate of renewable growth and the rate of fossil fuel phase-out is nowhere near high enough right now. Shrugging it all off because 'renewables are inevitable' = complacency and failure. We need to do way, way more www.wri.org/research/sta...

Scoop: For nearly a year, NSF has struggled to make new grants. Now we know that it will not catch up. In fact, NSF will award just 6,100 new grants—a 30% y/o/y decline, itself down from a previous avg. of 11,000+. In fact, the last time NSF awarded so few grants was in the early '80s.
