Just yesterday, TINSW announced a $22m project to widen an inner Sydney road and demolish footpaths and trees. In the year 2026. We desperately need more homes, we need more bus lanes - but this should be done by reallocating road space - per TNSW's great policy. jakecoppinger.com/2026/09/just...

Reducing speed limits in cities can save lives. Why is Australia still reluctant?
Victoria has led the way in trialling 30km/h zones, but in Sydney the NSW government has been accused of dragging its feet

From what I can tell the second limit (though one paper only mentions one) - and height of Parliament House (!!) - is set at exactly the height of the 1964 AMP tower. Did the House match the Hill or tower, was the hill modified to match the tower, or the tower to the Hill?! Fascinating.

All the lowlights from the Safer Speeds debate
If the fast moving vehicles don't get you, these brainless talking points will. Last Thursday, the NSW Parliament debated the Safer Speeds Bill (actually the Road Legislation Amendment (Speed Limits) Bill 2025). This was a chance to hear from some of the least-qualified but most-elected people in the state on why they opposed this reform. Here's what they had to say.
