Also not lost on me the... irony of my rushing to get home for my specialist appointment, because of my rare disease (also one of the reasons we mask), while being threatened over masking (again). This is a direct result of poor @bcndpcaucus.bsky.social policies, and a #BCPH failure to educate.

Since @davidebybc.bsky.social @jodiewickens.bsky.social announced cuts to funding for 34,000 Disabled kids, many of us've been pointing out that using DTC as a mechanism to access a portion of (unstable) funding was inequitable. Govt's own documentation shows they know this, & are using it anyway.🙃

It was pretty scary. If she had been successful, she likely would have hit one of my kids, too. Also makes walking through our neighbourhood less relaxing, because we always have to be on alert to avoid her and her family (her husband tries to indimidate us with his Dodge Ram...).

So disappointing. There's a whole culture of dismissing masks as excessive here and I think the BCNDP helped reinforce mask wearers as being slow to get back to normal. Remember this?

In June, a neighbour - who has been harassing me & my kids about our masks on the way to/from school for a year, now - growled & tried to hit me with her aluminum water bottle... I think a lot about govt rhetoric that made space for physical attacks like that, while claiming care for hi-risk ppl.
