Many years ago @joshbabarinde.bsky.social told me about the domestic abuse that he and his family experienced as a kid. To hear the full extent of the abuse was heartbreaking. This sunny young man, beloved by his peers, had lived through some serious darkness.

Sadly I think Owen is right. It’s the only conclusion Starmer and others leave us to make when they publish this kind of statement. How else are we to reconcile the fact that one people has suffered so much more human suffering than the other - yet receives nowhere near as much empathy?
