2020 was the year we seemed to all agree that Black Lives Matter. There was an astounding proliferation of books on anti-racism, corporate DEI statements, social media call outs, lists of Black businesses to support. And then there wasn’t.

Throughout January we'll be sharing 10 charts to help us understand the picture of poverty in London in 2025. First up is a sobering illustration of the scale of child poverty. *1 in 3* children in London are growing up in poverty. In some boroughs this is much higher... 1/3
A chart showing the proportion of children growing up in poverty in each London borough. Tower Hamlets has the highest, at close to 50%, followed by Newham, Hackney and Barking and Dagenham. Richmond has the lowest, followed by Kingston.
