🎉 New preprint. First piece of work from us looking at how Klebsiella spp. use gut microbiome-associated metabolites present in urine. Very much v1 but we wanted it out for feedback, and to support lead author @devarsh1917.bsky.social as he applies for PhDs. #microSky

The Omp85 family protein, TamA, exhibits characteristics of a suitable drug target against Pseudomonas aeruginosa
The outer membrane (OM) of Gram-negative bacteria is crucial for cell stability and virulence and acts as a permeability barrier. The biogenesis, assembly and regulation of proteins in the OM are, the...

Mutations affecting the β-sheet at the extracellular opening of the intimin β-barrel domain lead to reduced protein levels and inefficient passenger secretion
Abstract. Attaching and effacing pathogens, such as enteropathogenic and enterohaemorrhagic Escherichia coli, rely on an adhesin, intimin, for attachment to enterocytes and downstream effects leading ...

🚨 Fully‑funded PhD for Home Students🚨 We'll explore non-antibiotic alternatives in relatistic environments, uncovering how they work, if they affect antibiotic activity and whether they influcence AMR acquistion. Come join a wonderful supervisory team! #MicroSky #UTISky #AMar tinyurl.com/38u552bu

I’m thrilled to see our latest paper on chain formation mediated by trimeric autotransporters published. This was a collaboration with @schauflerlab.org; most of the data was produced by Lena Swiatek during a 3-month scientific visit at NTU - way to go Lena! www.nature.com/articles/s41...
