When I tasted sa costedda for the first time, I couldn’t believe it…the tomato aromas hung in the air like incense. What caused this explosion of flavor and aromas? I had to find out…and as it turned out, it wasn't anything mysterious... #VeganFood

The woman behind the counter didn’t laugh at my joke. Fair enough. But the square of sa costedda she reluctantly sliced for us was the best thing I ate in Sardinia...and the reason I spent weeks up to my wrists in crushed tomatoes. Read the story in my latest piece... #VeganFood

As I was out jogging and encountering people going to work this morning, I noticed that I was receiving many wonderful smiles...I must have been exuding a great deal of internal happiness and gratitude. Sharing smiles in the rain is an immensely positive experience.

The beginning of October feels a bit more autumnal… #Nature
A Swiss lake in the foreground with morning golden reflections from the trees streaming down the bank on both sides to the lake. The fore hills and larger mountains are mostly without snow and look rugged. The sky is cloudless and intensely blue.

Looks okay, but a quick reality check on "no animals harmed": the global demand for coconut oil causes heavy deforestation in tropical biospheres, severely impacting wildlife habitats. Plant-based supply chains may claim no domesticated animals harmed, but this does not mean no animals were harmed.

Not from Austria, but Swiss prices are mostly slightly more. I can safely say a 1 kg. loaf of sourdough costs between 5 CHF and 10 CHF depending on quality...that's $6 to $12. I expect Austrian prices to be in that general neighborhood. Certainly, $60 per loaf seems excessive!

I use a Japanese baking technique to make bagels. Pre-cooking some of the flour and water before mixing in the remaining dough ingredients produces a delightful brown exterior and a tight and chewy interior – kind of the perfect bagel, I would say! #VeganFood
