Rewatched the OG Cape Fear & WOW — the sustained tension alone makes it visceral as Hell. Feels like menacing theatre. No way audiences were ready for such confrontational filmmaking such as this — which is exactly why the craft on display wasn’t recognized. This film should have given Oscars.

Freaky Tales is one of the most fun, rad, righteous films of this century. It’s a hell of a ride, and it’s a film that actually lets scenes and dialogue breathe, giving gravitas to the story. And if you’re craving justice, this is for you. Well, well done, I want more. Don’t sleep on this one!

I really loved this—I finally got my wish to see Predators in feudal Japan; I’ve wanted that ever since seeing the katana in the trophy room of that spaceship in Predator 2. There are a few more weapons from that scene that make an appearance, and the opening Viking segment is fierce AF, no notes.
