Continuing on my self education of Ursula K. Le Guin I just read The Dispossessed. Another brilliant piece. An exploration of all political/societal systems through the idea that any protective wall built (physically or mentally) is also a prison. Hated the characters but that may the point.

Which distorts the background, and even though the shot is horizontal the background is out of focus, moving, and it feels like falling. So I *think* it's just a visual language of the shot creating a feeling/memory that wasn't there. My best guess.

I've talked with a few people who are wondering how Diana could remember something that didn't happen. haha. It's weird. The best explanation I can think of (without going to see it in theatres again and without having a home release) is that there is a final shot that is a dolly zoom in on the eye.
