Kurt Vonnegut man

Americans, like human beings everywhere, believe many things that are obviously untrue. Their most destructive untruth is that it is very easy for any American to make money. They will not acknowledge how in fact hard money is to come by, and, therefore, those who have no money blame and blame and blame themselves. This inward blame has been a treasure for the rich and powerful, who have had to do less for their poor, publicly and privately, than any other ruling class since, say Napoleonic times. Many novelties have come from America. The most startling of these, a thing without precedent, is a mass of undignified poor. They do not love one another because they do not love themselves.

I try not to think about this, but. The truly scary thing is that the people don’t care. We created legal systems based on the idea people cared - a lot - about civil liberties, the right to a trial, privacy, all of that. But if people think the vibes are right, they just don’t care.

Keir Starmer announcing Labour has hit NHS targets 9 months early, following an announcement we are ready to put boots on the ground in Ukraine. Kemi Badenoch giving a speech at a think tank saying western culture is under attack by woke. Richard Tice sending tweets doubting global warming.

I don't think that's likely but I'd love it if it happened

Yeah, exactly. Clubs get the majority of their money up front. To get more money from shirt sales a new deal is the most important thing, which is why spurs' deal is a bit short sighted. 7.5% of a shirt sale boost in Colombia is not going to move the needle in any significant way.

Surprised to see Leeds are 16th. This backs up what I was saying though. The money goes to adidas and, while it could well mean a better deal in the future, it doesn't directly amount to much direct profit for arsenal.

No, because the money goes to adidas
