He correctly said toronto media, not fans, they're the ones who want to drum up clicks.

I don't want our mayor to look and act like the average republican staffer. Like what the fuck do you expect when dougie closes every safe injection site (a place that keeps folks safe and gives them access to care) in the city over the past 7 years. Of fucking course this is the result.

I'm really excited for the PWHL to take over HNIC, it's great timing for them too. Big whiff by the NHL here

I’d write down a series of directions. I appreciate gps because if I got lost it wouldn’t take me forever to get back on track, especially in Toronto with all the one-ways. GPS also feels very sci-fi or need for speed which is awesome

There's no feeling like seeing a familiar face again after changing jobs and having to start over. People are awesome.

And speaking of contract efficiency: McKenna and Cowan on ELCs for two more years. And our 2C who scored 30/70 last year shouldn't make less than $5m either. Paying fair value here is fine, especially if it gets a player like him in the lineup.

020

Hardev @itsnothardev.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

In terms of GMs, I think only Treliving and Chayka have shopped him and only in the last year. I don't know what kind of step Knies can take -- I hope he does great in CBJ -- but I don't think it closes the gap to Marchenko unless he becomes a genuine transition player or shooter.

000

Hardev @itsnothardev.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

More teams trading away players don't want futures because very few are actually tanking. Lotta returns are NHLers and near-NHLers. Knies isn't a play driver, he's a great complimentary player and before the trade I thought Roslovic had taken that role. And I think he's seen as better than he is.

110

Hardev @itsnothardev.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Marchenko's perception after getting the simultaneous 1. never heard of him before, 2. contract extension, and 3. traded for Knies is going to be really hard to break.

Hardev @itsnothardev.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Yes, it's about a million. Marchenko+Merzlikins+Wood = Knies+Lorentz+Andrae They were probably going to spend as much having Lorentz and Andrae in the minors anyway.

Hardev @itsnothardev.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Someone tell guy they didn't make the playoffs.

030

Hardev @itsnothardev.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Watch his goals from last year, he was 50/50 going up from the left side and right side equally. You also get the benefit of letting Matthews mess around on the left side (+44+43) in the o-zone with Marchenko and Roslovic both available on their strong sides. All are good for options and openings.

120

Hardev @itsnothardev.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Yeah he's either out all season or going to the Marlies.

100

Hardev @itsnothardev.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Marchenko-Matthews-Roslovic everyone else the same

120

Hardev @itsnothardev.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

When Matthews was drafted it took a full 6 years for the cap to go up the same amount it went up from last year to this year AND the amount it's going up next year too. And apparently this is all still lagging behind escrow (the player's 50%).

Hardev @itsnothardev.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

You gotta realize the cap is so much different now.

I always love when a player spends his whole career with one team. Especially a career as long and legendary as Verlander. Respect, I hope he has an amazing retirement. His daughter sprinting to the mound was so touching.

Our deliveries have also been cut to once a week so if we didn't get more today we might not have it for another week. Municipal trash/services are still daily (I say because my classroom is right above the bins so the truck makes a loud banging every day when they collect the trash).

28 years ago today, Roy Halladay made his MLB debut with the Blue Jays. He allowed three runs in five innings to the Rays in the Blue Jays' 7-5 win at Tropicana Field. Rich Butler (East York, Ont.) became the first MLBer to homer off Halladay when he went deep in the fourth.
